Sophie Taylor, Artistic & Executive Director

Sophi​e Taylor (she/her) is an NC-based dancer and choreographer from Franklin, MA. Sophie specializes in ballet and contemporary choreography and has been choreographing for 10 years. She obtained a BFA in Dance Performance & Choreography and a BA in Arts Administration from Elon University. Sophie's most recent choreographic work, Maleficent, drew audiences of over 100 people and consisted of a cast of 18 dancers. Sophie started Violet Ballet to make ballet more inclusive and supportive of its dancers. She believes in teamwork, passion, and creativity, and enjoys collaborating with her dancers throughout her choreographic process.
